Hoccheim Prairie is out insurance carrier <a href="http://www.hpfm.com/." rel="nofollow">http://www.hpfm.com/.</a>

However I had my 102nd rejection for financing today. We are simply leasing a hangar with pilot's quarters that we wish to purchase. I am becoming very discouraged.

Most of the "normal" carriers exclude anything from your liability insurance that is "aviation-related"...I have diligently searched for a carrier (personally and for our Agency to represent), that is "aviator"and airpark-friendly...It would behoove everyone to ensure your policy is appropriate for your airpark home. If anyone has found such a carrier, please share the information...

We built a 5000 s/f hanger home in 2004 with a 1900 s/f hanger using ICF (Cast in place concrete construction) with a interior hurricane room. Liberty American insured us for three months. Then the cancellation came with a check rebating 50% of our $2,600.00 premium. Their claim was that they did not have lines to cover a home with a aircraft inside of it. We fully disclosed this to the agent prior to the application. Our Option was to go into the Florida Pool for $6,000.00 or get our liability coverage on a Master Policy we have up North, back it up with my personal Umbrella declaration and set up a fund at a local Bank to "self-insure" for the catastrophic aspect (should it occur). We are putting $6,000.00 per year into a fund for this property.
