With the nationwide housing market in turmoil, we are trying to determine what effect it is having on the residential airpark market. This survey will provide updated and useful information for both buyers and sellers. It might even be helpful determining the ultimate value of your property for real estate tax purposes.

I bought a one acre lot in the industrial park adjacent to the St Anthony Idaho municipal airport. I got permission to make an apartment as part of my hangar and live there. 7 lots in that park were made available for aviation use with acess to the runway. I paid $40K for the lotall amenities are available at edge of lot….$8000 connection fees. The sale of my presidence residence fell through so my plans to build this summer are on hold…… Ken McCune

As an owner in a small but beautiful “airpark” and as a former realtor, I have never felt the general trend in the housing market pertained to this unique type of real eatate.
I could be wrong! I will soom find out, as I am now putting my place up for sale. My hame, hangar on 5 acres, including a grove on a beautiful turf runway just a short flight to the Florida Keys is a pilot’s dream come true. That pilot, Richard (Dick) Neubauer passed away in 2004, but his dream is still here.

I have had a beautiful lot at Holley Mountain Airpark for sale for over a year, and I initially got a few responses from ads place in internet publications, but in the last 6 months I’ve got no responses at all. I suspect that airpark properties are suffering just like any other, as financing has tightened up considerably.

I just leased an airpark home and hangar, at Forest Hill Airpark, St.Johns, Michigan, to a family that I sold a lot to in 2007. They are going to live in the home while they build their new home and hangar. Forest Hill Airpark has turf runways and country style living, so we are limited in what we have to offer many pilots. We do have the perfect sport pilot airpark.

As a realtor and a resident of an airpark, Tailwinds Airpark in Jupiter Florida. We are feeling the effects however, no one is moving. I just got the first listing in a long while and only because they have to move close to the kids’ school. But they they don’t want to move. We’ve had two lots sell in the last 10 months. There’s 2 multi million dollar houses being built and another will be built soon. The last house that sold in May 2007, my listing, sold for $2.35 M but now it’s a different story.
My new listing is priced at $1,850,000 initially at $2 million. (just listed it a week ago).
Good Luck to all of you.

As an owner, I have two great airpark properties for sale without any offers, and they are well below original purchase price. The best one is in Florida at Hidden Lake Airpark, North of Tampa, w/ 4,000′ asphalt runway, fuel, maintenance and 6,500′ home/hangar for only $ 475,000.00 which is just over the land value. Huge hangar, but no bites and may be rented…Any ideas?

I have 4 lots in Sahuarita, AZ. They are all located on the Flying Diamond Airpark. It is a beautiful area and as the areas surrounding the airpark and the airpark itself continue to develop at a rapid rate, the prices will most likely continue to rise. Depending on the lot’s proximity to the actual runway and the views, the lots I am willing to sell range from 55K to 70K. Call 619.252.6264 and ask for Nate. I am the owner of all 4 parcels. Each parcel is just over 4 acres!

I have a hangar house (40 by 40 plus loft living space) and hangar 60 x 40 on 5 acres here in Arizona. I am trying to move to Colorado, but am hold up because I need to sell here. Am priced really well. Direct access to a well maintained 2640′ dirt runway with lights for night landing. Its a so unique place that many feel it is too unique.

We have a magnicificant airpark in Sweden where all 45 plots were sold in the time of six months. Now there are a few plots for sale (40 000 USD for a plot that fits hangar and house!) and that is even above the prices they were sold for initially.
