This beautiful lot is ready to be built. Trees are removed from the building site. Owner can also provide building plans and building permit approved by the HOA. These plans and the construction come at an extra fee.
I purchased lot number one in Duchy Airpark on April 2007. As one of the first ones to purchase I had the choice of all lots available. The reason I picked this lot #1 is it has the best location, a nice topography, and is wooded. I envisioned a hangar in the hill and a house on top with view all around. To the south a view of the beautiful North Carolina rolling hills, to the east the rising sun and to the northwest the beginning of the runway as well as the sunsets. Not too close to the runway, just right. Since then the homeowners have invested in a nice 3500 x 44 feet asphalted runway and taxiways and I have engaged a German/Brazilian architect, named Mrs. Maude Carneiro to design a hangar & home that was perfect for the lot. Mrs. Carneiro came with a design that met all restrictions from the Architectural Committee of the Homeowners association. We engaged Mr. Ken Theisen of Engineering Tech P.A. to do the engineering, Mr. Nigel Clarke to do the terrain survey and landscape architecture. The Alamance County Building Department gave the project their blessing with a building permit.
We tucked the Hangar (1800 ft sq) into the hill as the basement of the home. On top but on the ground floor a contemporary design of a comfortable home featuring a living room and kitchen with pantry, half bath and a deck to the south as well as a two-car garage. The first floor features the master bedroom with a suite bathroom and walk-in closet, a guest room and a home theatre, as well as terraces on each room.
According to the plans the lot trees were carefully removed where the hangar home is to be built.
