Assisted living for retired pilot available

Eagles Nest at Platte Valley, Colorado’s first aviation-themed assisted living home, has officially opened.

Located in Weld County between Fort Lupton and Hudson, Eagles Nest is adjacent to Platte Valley Airport and the Vintage Aero Flying Museum. The new assisted living home is an addition to the neighboring aviation community, according to officials at Eagles Nest Aviator Homes Inc.

The home features nine private bedrooms, each with full bath and large storage closet. All bedrooms are partially furnished with a new full-size bed and all bed and bath linens. In addition, each bedroom is equipped with a wall mounted 26-inch flat screen television with Direct TV movie channels.

Partially furnished rooms will provide residents the convenience of moving in on short notice if necessary, affording them time to personalize their bedrooms as they settle into their new home, official said. There also are two fully furnished bedrooms available for respite care on a daily, nightly or weekly basis.

The bedrooms adjoin a central family gathering room and kitchen with fireplace and large screen television. The connecting dining room and large front porch offer a view of the Rocky Mountains and Colorado sunsets. Additional features include a library with fireplace, in-house beauty/barber shop, and a game/activity room complete with flight simulators. There also is a guest suite available for visiting family and friends.

Monthly rental rates include home-cooked meals, 24-hour snack bar, medication assistance, daily housekeeping, laundry service, scheduled beauty, barber and professional foot care, trained staff on site 24 hours daily, events and scheduled outings, and all other assistance with daily living as required.
