The Pegasus Group announces the Grand Opening of the Big South Fork Tennessee Airpark and Equestrian Community. An exclusive aviation and equestrian community in eastern Tennessee, this airpark was inspired by the rustic beauty of Scott County and the surrounding Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area. The vision is to create a 450-acre dreamscape for plane and horse lovers alike.
The Pegasus Group has strong family ties to the Big South Fork and eastern Tennessee area and has come to know the people who live nearby. Bill Armstrong from Pegasus notes, “We’re not just in town for the next year to develop a piece of property, finish it and leave. This is a long-term commitment for us.” Indeed, Big South Fork Airpark was originally created to serve as an aviation community, but the local interests persuaded the developers to fully integrate an equestrian lifestyle as well.
Located in an area renowned for its lush landscape, abundant wildlife, cascading waterfalls, and rivers, Pegasus Group drew upon the beauty of the landscape and its surrounding tight knit community for the creation of this distinctive development. Their goal was to create a first-class community inspired by nature. “We want our residents to feel like they’re in a mountain home tucked away amongst nature in the east Tennessee mountains,” Bill Armstrong says. “It’s gorgeous up here.” For a limited time if someone books a tour of the airpark the Pegasus Group is offering complimentary accommodations at the renowned Grey Gables in historic Rugby.
The development offers its residents a multitude of views, including the ridgeline, waterfalls, forests, and proximity to hangars and equestrian center. The spacious lots range from one to three-and-a-half acres, providing privacy while maintaining the community feel. Pegasus Group is currently working with two home manufacturers whose designs blend well with the rustic surroundings: Barna Homes, a local manufacturer, and Kuhns Brothers Homes.
Armstrong mentions, “One of the things that we’ve done since we started, and will continue to do, is work with local contractors and businesses that are based in the community.” The airpark boasts underground utilities, and all homesites are provided with high speed Internet and natural gas.
Big South Fork Airpark, a residential fly-in community, intertwines lifestyle and beautiful living for both aviators and equestrians. In a causal, rustic setting aviation and horse enthusiasts have the exclusive opportunity to live in a high-quality home only seconds away from their plane, runway and riding trails.
