From The Democrat in Senatobia, Miss., Melissa Turner reports:
“After an hour-long and emotional public hearing, the Tate County Board of Supervisors upheld a Planning Commission decision allowing a private airpark in eastern Tate County.”
Darrell Riddell wants to build a home for himself and six more on his 79-acre parcel. He also wants to include a 4,000 foot long turf runway. To better understand some of the opposition Mr. Riddell faces:
“I believe when a man owns a piece of property, he owns from the center of the earth to the heavens above,” said resident Gerald McLemore. “I don’t want anyone recreating in my airspace above my house.”
Several area residents vow to appeal, naturally.
